One corner’ crooner, Patapaa has finally gotten paid for his first show in Ghana after complaining of not getting any money from his hit track.

After his song became a massive hit, Patapaa came out to complain that he still doesn’t have any money and he got into a dispute with the RTP awards after he was offered a miserable Ghc 1,000 to perform at their event.

Those days are behind him now as ‘things are getting better’. Recently Patapaa performed at the ‘WAV’ concert in Takoradi and according to organizers, he made Ghc 5,000 for his performance. Aside his appearance fee, organizers also took care of travel, accommodation and food expenses.

Anyway, as he makes more money for himself, his collaborators on the song are also calling to be ‘settled’ since they helped him compose the song and he paid them nothing at the time.

The “27” album, Falz The Bad Guy’s third studio album tracklist features the likes of Wande Coal, Burna Boy, Maleek Berry, Terry Apala, Sir Dauda, Ycee and Ghanaian rapper, Medikal.

With technical credits to in-demand producer Sess The Problem Kid, Demsa, Studio Magic, Spax, Juls and Maleek Berry. The 15-track album has Wehdone Sir and Bahd Baddo Baddest as bonus singles.

The joy that comes with success!! Most talked about celebrity in the country Davido, is sure living the ‘star‘ life as he recently performed to an overwhelming crowd in Sierra Leon.

The DMW boss, who according to New Telegraph is still being investigated by the police in the Tagbo death case, shared a photo of the sold out show, using the medium to tell his father he is sure making the family proud.

Davido has been in the news over allegations surrounding the death of his friends Tagbo and Dj Olu.

Earlier, the music star released footages from incident at the hospital to clear his name of all allegation after Police queried his claims.

In her reaction, Sophia posted a photo of Davido on Snapchat with a caption: ‘Psalm 91:2. Baba Imade! God’s got you!! Smile my G!”

Davido’s lawyers insist that he was not present at the time of death of the deceased neither did he give directives to take the remains of the deceased to the general hospital or Morgue

Davido who has been in the middle of circumstances surrounding the mysterious death of his close friend, Tagbo Umeike released a statement on Thursday night through his lawyers.

Here are 10 major HIGHLIGHTS from the statement.

1. Contrary to the reports going round that Davido was arrested, the statement reveals that he was never arrested, but made himself available to assist the police with its investigation and after a satisfactory explanation, he was allowed to leave.

2. The video footage was released to disclose the chain of events leading to the discovery of the remains of Mr Tagbo Umeike do not in any way incriminate Davido, but rather absolves him of any criminal culpability, a fact that the police is aware of.

3. The lawyers also revealed that Davido did not instruct anyone to dump the corpse of Mr Tagbo Umeike anywhere further.

4. The deceased was seen in a drunken and intoxicated state as he was staggering on the people around.

5. Davido tried to convince the deceased to get into his vehicle so as to take him home safely, which Tagbo outrightly refused.

6. The footage further revealed that Davido drove out of the premises of the shisha room.

7. After Davido left, the deceased went back into the Shisha room in the company of most of the people who were all at the car pack at the time of his departure.

8. Davido was not present at the time of death of the deceased neither did he give directives to take the remains of the deceased to the general hospital or Morgue.

9. Davido also had no knowledge of the deceased’s movements after he last saw him at the shisha room.

10. Rather, it was friends of the deceased who out of concern , without Davido’s knowledge, drove the deceased to the hospital , while Davido’ details escorted the deceased car in Davido’s Hilox Pilot truck because they were helping a fellow human being who was in need of help.

The Nigeria Music Industry is moving very fast. The trends come and go, new talents emerges everyday, and old musicians think of new ways to stay relevant.

If you are a musician in this volatile business, then you have to master the art of change. A good number of Nigerian musicians have been able to pull it off while some others have been too slow to handle it.

There are certain others who had their big breaks but failed to leverage on it consistently until they really got to the height of their careers.

They released hit songs, got really popular, and then just as fast as they made it, dropped back to the ‘upcoming list.’ For some, they just lost their lucky streaks and for others, they relaxed a little too much by failing to even release songs.

You’ll certainly agree with me that the following Nigerian musicians ‘blew’ and then suddenly became upcoming all over again.

Ice Prince

Gone are the days where girls were screaming ‘TeanZamani.’ For some reason, Ice prince and his wonderful hits are no more. Unlike Brymo, Ice prince had more than one hit song.

From ‘Aboki’, to ‘Oleku’, ‘I swear’, ‘More’, and so many really thrilling tracks. Even the one he did with music veteran, Sunny Nneji’ was wonderful. Alas, 2017 and he seems to be completely forgotten. For some reason, his 2016 songs didn’t do well and we haven’t heard anything new from him since then.

Chidinma

The wonders of being a winner of Project Fame West Africa are immense. You get a recording contract, get exposure, a brand new car, and get a sudden pay out in millions of Naira. However, none of these things has helped Chidinma remain in the limelight.

Her name isn’t forgotten as she has been in the media. She has however not been on our tv screens or radio stations well enough for us to hear her. Her last few songs have been poor and she appears to have given up. We’re hoping she releases something soon enough before she fades into oblivion completely.

Brymo

Brymo came into the spotlight out of nowhere and he stole our hearts in an instant. Olawale Ashimi, better known as Brymo, is a Nigerian singer, songwriter and composer. Unfortunately, he hasn’t really been worthy of that status since.

Formally Signed under Chocolate City, he has released a few albums that haven’t really done well. If you have the average Nigerian about Brymo, they’ll probably only remember him because of his track ‘Ara’ which was released as far back as far back as 2011. In fact, that was his first track under Chocolate City. What’s happening?

We can all agree that 9ice has had his fair share of popularity. He has also stayed in the industry long enough. Somewhere at the peak of his career, he decided to use his fame and goodwill to pursue his other dream which just happened to be politics.

We do hope that is working out for him somehow. What we know, however, is that his attempts at coming back hasn’t just worked well. Let’s hope he pulls back up in good time or we’ll just have to add him to our list of past wonders.

Nollywood actress and ‘radical for christ’ as she calls herself, Tonto Dikeh, in an exclusive interview with Premium Times was a guest at the unveiling ceremony of the 2017 African Children Talent Discovery Foundation, “Unleash Your Talent”.

The event was held in Lagos on Monday, and she spoke about her ‘Born Again Status’ and other issues.

The nollywood actress, who is never ashamed of her new calling in christ did not fail to brag about the inner glow in her when she was asked about the secrets behind her glow. In her words,

“Well, firstly I am born again and when you have God, you just radiate. So all the glow is from within; you don’t fake God’s glow. You also can’t fake God’s glory because it overwhelms you. I don’t know how to say what I want to say but when God steps into a situation or your life he elevates you and makes you see things in a different light. So, the glow you see is all God. I am a radical for Christ.”

The mother of one was also asked if she had plans to become an evangelist ever since she became born again and whether she plans on reconcilling with her husband or re-marrying, she said, “Yes I will, before I became an entertainer I was close to becoming an evangelist but I backslid. But not to say anything, I am back with God. I don’t know where God is taking me to. But if it is the pulpit, I am ready.

Tonto Dikeh has always received backlashes from fans ever since she proclaimed her new faith but she seems not to be bothered as she is fully prepared for what lies ahead of her. She revealed that the devil cannot steal from an empty barrel and so she is always fully charged. “I will go through a lot of things, whatever is happening now this is nothing compared to what is yet to come.”

Legendary Nollywood actress, Omotola Ekeinde, held a private screening of her new movie Alter Ego, for top Nigerian businessmen and politicians at the Filmhouse IMAX in Lagos.

Writing on her Instagram, the legendary actress noted that the session was attended by top figures in the country. The figures in attendance include Africa’s richest man Aliko Dangote, Femi Otedola, ex-governors Donald Duke and Otunba Niyi Adebayo, and also the managing director of Shell Nigeria, Mr Osagie Okunbor.

The actress was dressed to the hilt for the occasion in a blue-and-white patterned gown, detailed with sequins and blue fringes, and she looked simply stunning!

Ekeinde first shared a preview of Alter Ego in December 2016, to the amazement of many fans, especially because she played out a scene that, perhaps is her raciest yet.

While announcing the new project last August, she revealed that the role was quite challenging, one she had never taken on before.

“We’re on to another one fam. However, with this project you will either love me more or outrightly begin [to] hate me. I’m doing something I’ve never done,” she said. And she nearly gave folks a heart attack with just a preview.

Now, Omo sexy has screened the film for the big boys, a testament to her achievement and success in the industry.
