Hello everyone, here's a weekend bonus for everyone. I'll just start by asking a simple question: What's Your Password??? Are you going to tell me??? I thought as much, you will NEVER tell me. So since our password is something we would never give out, then why make it an easy to guess password??? So today we are going to talk about how to choose and how NOT to choose a strong password. Let's start with"What Not To Do": 1) Never use your birthday, wedding anniversary, child's birthday as your password. A survey by some internet security experts found out that some people use birthday or anniversary dates as passwords and this makes it very very easy to guess. 2) Another bad practice is using the same password for multiple accounts, some guys I know will use the same password for Facebook, Twitter, Gmail, Google+, etc. This is not recommended as first thing hackers do once they have gotten the password of one of your social media accounts is to try it on your others accounts, and if you are the type that uses the same password for all your accounts, then the hackers would be able to access all of them using one password. 3) Don't use 1111, 2222, 1010, 2020: A survey conducted by internet security experts in 2013 concluded that one in every ten individual use either 0000, 1111, 2222,.... or 1010, 2020, 3030,.... as their passwords, are you one of them? If you are, change your password immediately after reading this post , to avoid stories that touch the... What To Do: 1) Alpha-Numeric: One of the best practices when choosing a password is to make it alphanumeric (i.e a combination of a alphabet & numbers). For instance, a password like "abcde" would be easier to guess than "abc4d3e". So let's try this next time we want to create a new password and make our passwords alphanumeric. 2) Capital Letters: It's always advisable to put at least one CAPITAL letter anywhere in your password. For instance, "abc4d3e" isn't the same thing as "aBc4d3E". The second instance is an example of a secure password and is highly recommended. So there you have it, you now know how to choose a strong/secure password, so just take some minutes now and make your password a stronger one. And if you have any question not covered by this post, feel free to ask it using the comment box.
