And Ashley’s Barbie has style just like her own too! The doll is dressed in a sparkly Opening Ceremony bodycon dress along with a Sonia Rykiel cropped jeans jacket and Pierre Hardy boots – an outfit Ashley has worn in real life before.
Graham, who made history as the first plus-sized cover model on Sports Illustrated’s coveted Swimsuit Issue, was involved in building her lookalike doll. ‘She had to have her thighs touch. No ands, ifs or buts about it. And I asked for cellulite but obviously plastic and cellulite don’t go hand in hand,’ she said.
She added that, ‘It was important that the Barbie resembled me as much as possible. The thighs touching was one way to show young girls that it’s okay for your thighs to touch, despite society saying that a ‘thigh gap’ is more beautiful.’
