A fatal road crash which occurred along the Ilorin/Ogbomoso expressway on Wednesday, November 30 ended the lives of 13 people inside a commercial bus.
The accident involved a truck and a hummer bus coming from Kaduna state, The Nation reports.
Eyewitnesses said the bus driver was on top speed when it suddenly rammed into the stationary truck, killing all the passengers on board.
After the incident, irate residents went on rampage to protest the deaths, mobilising themselves to burn the truck but for the quick intervention of policemen.
“A fully-loaded bus coming from Kaduna ran into a stationary vehicle and all the passengers died.
“The trailer, which was loaded with goods, has been impounded and we are working with the Kwara State Road Traffic Management Authority (KWARTMA) to trace the owner,” Commissioner of Police Olusola Amore who confirmed the incident told newsmen.
On the same day, a truck carrying sachet water crushed four school children in Warri. The accident occurred at the popular mechanic village off Effurun-Warri road.
