See What Davido is Up To in 2017

Adeleke David whose stage name imprint Davido has not been making sense these days or should i say confused and might need a good counsel and a great counselling class making sure Davido doesn’t miss a day.

Davido who is at the thoughest point of his career as a musician after not recognized by any award commitee last year should not as well be written off as he is one of the 5 biggest artiste Nigeria and Africa has ever gotten in the past years.

Now to the main issue, what a happy new year we had and still in the first month tho, Davido has started firing shots.

 

Last week reports came saying Davido sacks his long time manager Kamal Ajiboye and also firing shots at Sony music saying he isn’t in the international shits anymore (So all Davido was looking for was International fame) Lemme keep chut!.

After the whole “I am my own manager in 2017! Don’t put your life in another man’s hand,” of a thing, barely 4-5 days ago news came in from an original source saying Davido appointed Ayo George As his new Manager. Is Davido that confused! Or maybe he go some advice from good friends sha

 

Okay, now another news of Davido signing another new act with the name Yonda.

Now signing another artiste to DMW, is it a right decision for Davido to make or not? (this question is thrown to you). To me signing a new act is actually a bad decision and its a decision made out of no thinking.

Why would signing Yonda to DMW be such a bad idea? Firstly, looking at the DMW, how many artistes are being housed there? Count with me biko; Mayorkun, Dremo, Ichaba, Danagog, Lola Rae and not forgetting Dammy Krane who is allegedly on a partnership deal with the music imprint. That brings the total number of artistes on the label up to seven (7).

 

Now the biggest question to ask is are any of these artistes breaking bounds, are any of them doing anything worthy of applause? Apart from Dremo who hit the street with his Panda cover and Mayorkun with his Eleko single which made it the biggest hit to come out of DMW since last year up till date and we can also praise Lola Rae for the Biko single tho not yet signed to the label when the song was released; which one of them has broken any bounds again. Is Davido bitting more than he can chew? (Another Big Question For You). His random act of signing new acts to the label is out of sense and out of thought and to me seems like a gamble.

 

To me you sign artistes or acts as you may call them so as help them to a level at which they would also know they are already dependent.
Look at Badoo (Olamide) for example, that man was able to build and beat his chest for two of all his artistes signed to the label; talking about Lil Kesh who is already floating his own label and Adekunle Gold or should i say Wizkid who signed Mr Eazi to Starboy Records; I don’t have to say to much about Eazi cos you know if i say Life Is Eazi, you say Zagadat. LOL

On the other hand, Davido hasn’t fully succeeded in breeding these artistes to a great level and he is still reaching out for more. Confusion!

Davido, this is a music business not a charity show, why sign new acts when the older acts hardly actualizes something for you. Its just like having a full plate of rice and still asking for more knowing fully well it would wreck after addition of the rice.

Davido is at a very crucial state of his career where what he does this days would determine if it would wreck or appreciate cos with the rants on social media it shows he isn’t happy with Sony Music and might have to break ties if things get intense (going back to the basics aint easy). So therefore, Davido needs a convincing return to the game for his name and prestige.

 

All this words in these article cannot break the deal with Yonda cos the deal is already done and there’s no going back, so all Davido needs to do is get ready for his boys and for sure his first lady i.e spend less buying cars,houses and spend much time and money on these acts.

Just like a boss said ‘Signing Yonda is much more work for Davido and he seems ill-prepared for it.
