Manchester City grabbed a stoppage-time winner to edge out relegation-threatened Swansea City 2-1 and move back into the Premier League’s top four.
Gabriel Jesus opened the scoring on Sunday with his first effort at the Etihad Stadium on his full home debut.
The Brazilian looked lively throughout and broke the deadlock just 11 minutes into the game. As the ball ricocheted around the Swansea penalty area, Jesus was in the right place at the right time to prod a volley past Lukasz Fabianski.
The visitors raised their game after the interval and saw a Gylfi Sigurdsson free-kick touched onto the woodwork by Willy Caballero.
City appeared to have weathered that storm, but Swansea’s Icelandic talisman drove a left-footed effort from the edge of the box low into the bottom corner nine minutes from time.
There was, however, still time for Jesus to pounce on a fumble from Fabianski and seal back-to-back victories for the hosts.
