Super Eagles striker, Odion Ighalo, has explained why he wore the captain’s armband in Changchun Yatai’s last two league games.
The 27-year-old who joined the Chinese Super League outfit last month, led the team out in their first two matches of the CSL season which they lost.
“I am not the captain of Changchun Yatai, but for the last two games I did captain the team,” Ighalo said.
“The (substantive) captain played both matches.”
Ighalo is yet to score for his new club in China.
Their next fixture is against Shangdong Luneng on April 2.
