Edinson Cavani is nearing an extension to his Paris Saint-Germain contract, but he’s looking for a number of demands to be met before terms are agreed.

The Uruguayan striker, 30, is already tied to the reigning French champions until the summer of 2019.

His efforts this season have, however, led the club to open talks regarding a prolonged stay, and it’s understood that PSG are looking to add an extra 12 months to his current deal.
Cavani’s netted 42 goals in 41 appearances this season, with eight games remaining for him to try and match Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s record haul of 50 from 2015-16.

Unai Emery’s side have relied heavily on the South American this season and are believed to be in the market for further firepower this summer.

Any additions are intended to complement Cavani, though, rather than replace him.

Discussions regarding a new deal with their star striker will, however, require a certain degree of compromise from both sides.
